Why guitar courses?
Part of the educational requirements for music therapists include the skills to accompany themselves and others on guitar and piano. Our goal is to get music therapists so familiar with their guitars that they can make endlessly creative music to fit any clinical situation.
What are the video courses like?
Each course is recorded face-to-face with the instructor so you can clearly see and follow along. Courses may be divided into chapters or sections, and may have handouts for you to download and print. You can rewind and replay the videos as many times as you like, playing along with the instructor from the comfort and privacy of your own home. The courses are paced to allow you ample time to master each concept and integrate the new skills into your playing.
How do I sign up?
When you click on the "Buy Now" button under the course you want, you will be directed to a payment page. You can pay by credit card or with your PayPal account. Once you have paid, you will receive an email with your login information to access the course.
How does it work?
Each course has a set "access time" allotted for you to finish the material, usually 2-3 months. Once you have purchased the course, your access time begins and you can start the course at any time. You will automatically be sent a membership username and password which allows you to log in and view your course video anytime you want. The video will keep track of your progress and let you pick up where you left off, or review past chapters. Once you have finished the course, we will send you CBMT's Course Evaluation Form by email. And when you send in the Course Evaluation Form, we will email you your certificate for CMTE credits.
How much does it cost?
Each course costs between $75-$150 depending on its length. The cost is calculated based on how many continuing education credits the course is worth. Each CMTE credit is $25, so a 4-credit course would cost $100.
Are these courses only for music therapists?
Nope, our courses are valuable for anyone wanting to improve their skills and understanding of the guitar.
